Chelsea Charms Online

reading" Madrid Czech cutting "of Agustín de Foxa.

Peculiar novel written during the Civil War in which it is not very good for our illustrious countryman D. Niceto Alcalá-Zamora. In SL Bibliotex edition has 351 pages and read between 7 and 11 August 2009. I note the following passages:

p. 22 .- For the Civil Guards were already the ultimate guarantee of a crumbling regime (...) cream and flower of the most beautiful names of Castile, had to entrust the defense of the monarchy in those modest and salaried men, to that dreadful cocked hat and patent leather, good for face to bandits and gypsies, but unable to stop the relentless course of history.

p. 70 .- They had met some revolutionaries in the house of D. Niceto, in his office Moorish tiles and lanterns, nostalgic Priego de Córdoba. Lisp D. Niceto bursting with vanity.

p. 175 .- - What a joy, José. He eyes filled with tears. - How life hurts! Should be marble!
